I felt the need to draw Prince Ivan in his royal garb, even though it's really of the wrong era. I haven't really decided what colour Ivan's clothes are yet though, but blue seems to contrast nicely with his hair. Red and green still looks a bit too much like Christmas to me.

I am currently waiting for TF2 to finish updating so I can force nenadi to play with me.

The kicker with that was that last night, I was trying to design some new characters, and for some reason one of the characters looked like Heavy, so I was looking into that. I quickly got sucked into the vortex that I had previously tried to avoid, if only because I'm abysmal at all FPS games. One time I was playing Halo, and my friend's boyfriend said "Wow. I didn't know it could be that difficult to walk up the stairs."

But... well, I'll try anyway. :I

So, a cover, for the new webcomic, which is to be named "Two Keys". Not ripping off Alice's Two Rooks, I swear! I was gonna name it "Five Keys", but then realize that there actually aren't five keys, only two, so... yeah. :I

I haven't exactly been too productive as of late, so I have nothing to post, really. I am posting this because nenadi said if I don't, then she'll think I'm dead and give me a funeral, and as I am not emo I do not want a funeral.

I'm graduating in exactly... 5 days, and it's all very exciting. I just got the printed boards for my grad show booth, and it sure costed a lot to get them done, but it looks really good!

I drew Ivan in pchat, more or less to try to figure out his colours. He turned out to look a lot like Christmas, but I think I like it enough to keep the scheme.

Anyway, I started to watch Merlin a while ago to see what all the fuss was about. It was only one season long, so I didn't really mind watching all of it (I don't like watching series that are too long, I get discouraged even before I start). And I have to say, it's pretty entertaining. It's got action, and guys saving each other's lives a lot, and a slash!dragon (it took me a while to figure this one out), and dudes being touchy feely and destiny and magic and stuff like that, and it's generally pretty fun. I like it in the same way I like shounen manga.

Anyway, I guess it's pretty natural of me to want to draw fanart. Not like there's anything else I can do... I really suck at trying to capture realistic likeness though, so I didn't even try. I tried to get the essence of the characters though, however vague that may be.

A friend told me to watch Pushing Daisies, because he said that I might like it. So I did. And I did like it. I actually like Olive more than Chuck though, because Chuck is just way too perfect. Olive is more human but still manages to be a really sweet girl, and she just tries so hard that I can't help but root for her. Poor girl.

I also really like Emerson; he is a funny dude. But I think he must be gay because he is constantly with two good-looking woman and he doesn't even care.

Also started to watch Carnivale. I only watched two episodes so far, but it's looking to be really good.

And that's about it with the shows I've been watching, I suppose. Ah, teevee on the internet. Better than teevee on teevee.

Haven't done much except for some schoolwork the past week or so. I started to re-read sunshine again, and even though I'm not usually a fan of vampire novels, I really like this one. And even though Sunshine almost never stops describing Con's hideous looks, in my mind he will always look like Adrian Brody.

Anyway, I worked on one of my assignments a bit, and I've decided that instead of trying to do every illustration style I can possibly manage, I'll try to channel my focus into two main styles. I won't go into detail about what those styles are, but this is one of them:

Anyway, my sister's managed to find and download (how did she manage it? I couldn't when I tried) the really old Monkey Island games, and is having the time of her life.
Although, when she talks to me while she plays it, she sounds more than a little schizophrenic.

I finished my painting for the art box show, and dropped off my painting, but I won't be able to make the show itself because some unforseen family issues had arisen, forcing me to put off my events of the day.

I spent most of the day experimenting with painter. It was pretty frustrating, as the learning curve was not so much a curve, but a concrete wall. Most of my "experimenting" consisted of anger-induced scribbles on a blank canvas, as well as frantic switching of tools in hopes that one will cooperate with me.

Anyway, the results of all that anger is one Persona 4 fanart.

But despite all the frustrations I have for colouring, Painter is fantastic to ink with. It's a lot better than Photoshop. I started to use custom brushes for this pic, but it just felt like... working with Opencanvas, really.

I've been working on some paintings for the Vancouver Art Box Show for the past few days. I got 3 boxes, which was actually one more than I really should've gotten...

Anyway, I was trying my hand at acrylics. I could count the number of times I've really painted with acrylics on my hands, and it's the first on wood... so I guess it was more of a learning experience than much else.

My sketchbook ran out a few days ago, and I've yet to get a new one. It's just a task I haven't gotten around to, and am now forced to draw in a half-sized book with inferior paper. I am sometimes charmed by small little books, so every so often I'd find myself with a small sketchbook in my hand a few dollars poorer. However, I don't actually like to draw in a small book. I think part of the reason is that I don't like to rest my wrist on the edge of the paper, and when the book is small, the edges are just that much closer.

But I digress...

Me and cloverx have been working on a one-shot for the rumored December release of Rush. I'm not so sure if it's actually coming out or not, but that is what I hear.

As we're not sure if it's coming out in the beginning or end of December, we decided to not take our chances and finish the story as quickly as possible. Which meant that I had to pencil 32 pages in around 5 days or so. I'm inking it now.

Having a bit of trouble with my business card and self-promo package. I wanted to redo it with a military theme, but I wouldn't have time, not for marks at least. I'm hoping that when I do my portfolio site, it doesn't need to be consistent with the rest of my promotional package because redoing a site would take a lot longer.

Anyway, I ran down to Golden Ages yesterday with heart_mint and snowpanda_zero to see if they'd pick up the HS books. The owner didn't exactly seem very interested on the phone, so I didn't go in with very high hopes. Fortunately, he liked the book enough to pick up 3 copies, so it's now available there! Yay! The rest of the staff was super nice though, we kind of stood there for a really long time talking to them.

In any case, I came home a bit later to draw Jojo fanart with absolutely no reference. For any of it. So please excuse any mistakes on both parts.

It's Thanksgiving today, here in the Great Soviet Canuckastan.
Or perhaps it's tomorrow. I can't really remember, but it should be within these two days, and the only reason I know that much is because I happen to have a day off from school tomorrow.

In any case, I haven't been doing much the past few days except for a whole lot of nothing. School has been catching up to me, but I'm glad that my Applied Design teacher finally approved my logo concept. That class has seriously been hell for me, because he always rejected every single idea I had.

It was probably also hell for my friends too, as I whined at them non-stop about it. Well, it's all over now! Until the next project.

But I digress.

Here's a poster that panda_ne commissioned me to do for a party she's in charge of, because who she originally wanted to ask wasn't available, and I can whip up a poster in two days.

And some CG practice. I would give my left arm to draw like Jon Foster. I would give my right arm too, actually, provided I can draw like Jon Foster using my left arm. Or my foot, even.

Been revamping some (most) of the Megiddo characters, because I realized that in trying to be realistic, all the designs turned out rather (really) boring. It's not really just a problem of being boring, but that I doubt anyone aside from me will be able to tell one character from the other as they all look the same.

Wilst was one of the characters that got revamped, and I was just practicing CG with him.

Someone... stole my garbage, what the hell? I swear I put garbage in it yesterday, and now it's just... gone. Oh well.

Spent the better part of last night doodling when I promised to design my sister's resume for her. Which really reminds me, I need to write my resume too. I didn't realize that I'd need it for class.

Gonna head to the VAG to see Krazy tomorrow. I've already seen it, but this is a field trip. For some reason I have to bring my resume. Go figure.

1. heart_mint keeps telling me to stop looking at the pw kink meme. Coming from someone who lives on 4chan, that request(?) holds absolutely zero water.

2. My photoshop seems to be acting up, for some reason. I thought that my monitor was strange because the colours were completely off, but then it turned out it's only that way when anything is viewed in photoshop. What the hell? Is there some sort of preference thing I can poke around with?

3. There was supposed to be a point to that... I think the point was that I was drawing Futomimi to test it out, and it looked completely different. In any case...

4. I was randomly sketching out characters of one of our original stories, and these are two characters, both are girls. I've got a name for one of them, but not the other. I'm really bad with coming up with names.

5. I watched the opening ceremony.

6. sarahofcroydon was asking for ideas on what sport Klavier would fit into, and I rambled incoherently about this and that, suggesting some sport that wasn't swimming.

Not swimming because I don't like speedos, unfortunately. Just personal preference.

Afterwards, I sat down in front of the telly and watched the olympics. They don't wear speedos anymore. Instead they wear these legskin (or bodyskin) things that all of a sudden made all the swimmers ten times hotter in my book, and this goes for all the girls as well.

So I rambled incoherently some more... and long story short, Klavier in a swimsuit. Speedo.

8. I don't want to paint. I don't like painting because it makes a mess and it's a hassle to clean up. I like CG because there's no mess and if I screw up I can undo. Why can't I CG for school instead?

Why is it raining? It's supposed to be summer right now. :C

So, I'm almost done with shipping of preorders, as basically I just need to buy (a lot) more stamps and mail them out.

As for anyone who received it, were the books okay? They weren't damaged in the mail or anything, were they? Wrapping them in newsprint seemed like the best idea... or the only idea, really. I didn't really like doing that at first, because it didn't look very good... but eventually (and after much experimenting) I found a solution that finally satisfied my own desire for nice packaging. And the answer lies in... stickers.

Anyway, I've forcefully drafted Schumie into the war helping me do a really long Ace Attorney doujin. What the hell am I talking about, you ask? Well, I'll give you a hint. A really big hint. Mafia AU.

In all honesty, I don't expect very many people to be all that interested in this, so this is to satisfy my inner fangirl test a book printer that's near by and seems pretty good. But hey. It has Phoenix. And Miles. And pinstripes. And they also smoke a lot. And pinstripes automatically makes everything 108.4% better.

So I was working on one of the pages yesterday, (and I promised Schumie that I wouldn't take a screenshot of this, but broken promises are the only real ones, right?) and I asked Schumie how I should lay out the words, and she drew me a few sketches on msn that let me know exactly how I should lay it out.

But, that's been life for me. Oh, I also got two new pairs of glasses. I was gonna get just one pair, but my dad liked another pair better, so he told me to get them both. I have no idea how I'm gonna wear two pairs of glasses, but hey, he offered.
